The innovative carrier oil for magnetic particles (also called kerosene oil, MI MT 1100) LF-101 is the basis for the preparation of all the magnetic liquids of the LF series. This special oil has been developed to solve or minimize the fire hazard that usually accompanies the use of oil-based products in magnetic imaging. The fundamental comparison parameter for the determination of the fire hazard is the flash point, which for AMS 2641 and ASTM E709 regulations must be higher than 93°C. In LF-101 it was raised to 135°C.

Additives for water
For the use of magnetic powders in water, special additives are necessary: wetting – anti-rust – anti-foaming. If the already premixed types are not used, it is necessary to mix powder and additives before pouring them into water.
