Portable with magnetic base
When it is mandatory to carry out:
- conventional hardness measurements with the real Rockwell or Brinell methods
- no use of instruments of a different nature
- no use of approximate correction
- measurement on large steel product
magnetic anchoring durometers are the ideal solution to combine precision and ease of use.
The magnetic anchoring hardness testers of the MHT series allow Brinell and/or Rockwell tests to be performed, making them ideal for a wide range of applications.
- Simple measurement on large components
- Sequence and results independent of direction (up/down, down/up, diagonal, horizontal)
- Rockwell and Brinell hardness tests in line with ASTM and ISO international standards
- High accuracy of measurements
- The workpiece can be accessible from only one side only
Rockwell/Brinell mobile hardness testers for easy and fast measurements with precise hardness values.
Because of its magnetic function, unlike hardness testing calipers, large samples can also be measured in a mobile way. Only one side must be available.
The different models allow the execution of
- Rockwell tests with a preload of 10 kg and variable loads 60, 100, 150 kg
- Brinell tests with variable loads of 62.5, 125, 187.5 kg
This means that the HBW2.5/187.5 (HB30) configuration is possible. The measurement is comparable to the king of steel hardness scale: HB 10/3000
The model MHT-2500 allows the execution of the HBW5/750 test.

Directions for use
Fix the hardness testers on the surface of the iron or steel part, enabling the locking magnets.
Follow the Brinell or Rockwell hardness test method: the test conditions comply with ISO 6506, ISO 6508, ASTM E10 and ASTM E18 standards.
You can test steel plates, steel pipes, axles, dies, large forgings, and large and medium-sized heat treatment parts.
They allow the replacement of Leeb rebound hardness testers, which are inaccurate and unreliable.
