Magnetic permeability meters

The measurement of (relative) magnetic permeability on low-permeability stainless steels is necessary for the verification and selection of materials intended for the field of particle physics, for nuclear resonance devices or for special technical applications.

Applications include quality control of stainless steels, non-destructive testing of structural components, material selection for electron/ion physics and nuclear magnetic resonance equipment, and detection of material changes in highly stressed parts.

The Ferromaster is known for its precision, reliability and ease of use, essential for verifying the quality of stainless steels and detecting ferromagnetic inclusions. This instrument measures magnetic permeability with a range of µ = 1.001 ÷ 1.999 and a resolution of 0.001. It is calibrated according to international standards and is not affected by the Earth’s magnetic field.

The FerroPro Compact, another leading instrument, stands out for its ability to accurately measure magnetic permeability in a wider range (µ = 1,000 ÷ 5,000). This meter is particularly useful for the verification of stainless steels and for non-destructive testing of structural materials, selecting materials for magnetic and nuclear resonance machines.

The measurements are made in accordance with ASTM A342 test method 1 and 4, EN 60404-15 method 6 and VG 95578.
