Ferritoscopes
Ferrite content measurement is essential in industrial environments and chemical plants operating at high temperatures and pressures with aggressive materials. Stainless steel is often preferred for these applications, but monitoring ferrite content is crucial to prevent issues like cracking or corrosion in welds.
The ferrite meter or ferroscope (ferritometer, feritscope) measures both Percentage of ferrite and Ferrite Number (FN).
These measurements apply to austenitic and duplex stainless steel. The volume of sensitive material depends on the probe model used by the instrument.
